Hot Tickets: Scots, Royals girls showdown Wednesday

Here are five local prep events to keep your eyes on this week:
1. Boys wrestling: Jackson at Glacier Peak, 7 p.m. Tuesday. Jackson (9-2 overall) rebounded from a 0-2 start in Wesco 4A competition with two straight victories. The Grizzlies (3-5 overall, 3-2 Wesco 4A) are holding their own in their first year in the Class 4A ranks.
2. Girls bowling: District 1 Tournament (Glacier Lanes, Everett), 3:15 p.m. Wednesday. The winter sports postseason slate begins.
3. Girls basketball: Shorecrest at Lynnwood, 7:15 p.m. Wednesday. The Scots and Royals enter this game tied atop the Wesco 3A standings with 7-0 records.
4. Girls wrestling: Arlington, Cascade, Everett, Kamiak, Jackson, Marysville Getchell, Marysville Pilchuck, Mount Vernon, Monroe, Oak Harbor, Shorecrest, Snohomish, Stanwood at Lady Wolfpack Invite (Jackson High School), 9:30 a.m. Saturday. This tournament will feature 35 teams from around the state.
5. Boys basketball: Arlington at Stanwood, 7:15 p.m. Friday. First-place Stanwood (14-1 overall, 7-0 Wesco 3A) continues its quest for a conference title, but Drew Bryson and the Eagles (9-6, 6-1) should present a tough challenge.
