Western Governors University of Washington surprised Paula Kohring at her Everett apartment with news that she’d been chosen to receive a $10,000 scholarship. Kohring, who works at home as a caretaker for her parents, is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in business management from WGU Washington, an online university and nonprofit based in Kent.
The scholarship is expected to cover all or most of her tuition bill. It was offered to mark an enrollment milestone, as the university topped 10,000 students.
