EDMONDS — No one was injured in a fire that caused heavy damage to a home in Edmonds Monday night.

The fire was reported shortly after 9:30 p.m. at a split-level house along 77th Place W.

“Flames were coming out front windows of the home when the first firefighters arrived,” said Leslie Hynes, a spokeswoman for Snohomish County Fire District 1, which provides fire and emergency medical services in Edmonds.

No one was inside the home at the time. About 25 firefighters from Fire District 1 and Lynnwood responded. It took about 25 minutes to get the fire under control.

The man who lived there was displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
