When Carter Hart returns to the Everett Silvertips he’ll return as a gold medalist.
The Everett netminder stopped 35 of the 36 shots he faced as the Canadians defeated Sweden 3-1 in the gold medal game at the World Junior Championship Friday in Buffalo, N.Y.
It marks something of a redemption for Hart and his Canadian teammates after they took silver last year after falling to the Americans in a shootout.
Hart was named Canada’s player of the game and put up tremendous stats at this year’s tournament, mirroring the production he’s turned in for the Tips this season: 5-0-1, 1.81 goals-against average, .930 save percentage.
TSN has ample coverage, as does Sportsnet. I’d recommend heading to those sites if you want to read more.
