Snohomish County workers have installed stop signs at a dangerous “T” intersection in the Machias area.

Street Smarts readers over the years have expressed concerns about the intersection of OK Mill Road and South Machias Road. But long-term fixes, like a traffic signal or roundabout, are a ways off as the county seeks funding.

After recent crashes and a Street Smarts column, the county opted to install the all-way stop control as an interim solution. Road maintenance crews installed the signs on Wednesday during a dry spell.
