The Everett Silvertips didn’t skate Monday.

But the organization still turned in an impressive afternoon as it swept the WHL weekly awards and saw two of its 1999-born late-birthday players named to the midseason NHL Central Scouting list.

Carter Hart was named the WHL goalie of the week for the fifth time this season. He went 2-0-0 with a shutout and allowed one goal in two games as the Tips knocked off Brandon and Swift Current at home this weekend.

Here is Hart speaking after Saturday’s 4-0 win over Brandon:

Forward Matt Fonteyne was named WHL player of the week after tallying three goals and seven assists in Everett’s three victories last week.

Fonteyne is the first Tips skater to earn the nod during my two-plus seasons on the beat. He certainly had a worthy week after tying the club record with five assists in a 6-5 win over Tri-City Monday, adding two goals and an assist in the 4-0 over Brandon Saturday, and chipping in a goal and an assist in the 4-1 win over Swift Current Sunday.

That wasn’t all. Forward Riley Sutter, and Snohomish County native and defenseman Wyatte Wylie, were each listed among the top-ranked North American skaters eligible for this year’s NHL draft per NHL Central Scouting.

Sutter will also participate in this week’s CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound center tied his previous career high with his 20th goal in Sunday’s 4-1 win over Swift Current.

Wylie is the first Snohomish County native to be drafted and signed by the Silvertips. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound defenseman has three goals and 19 assists this season, and has 13 points in his last 16 contests.

Sutter is ranked 72nd among North American skaters while Wylie is ranked No. 179. Montana Onyebuchi, a former Tip traded to Kamloops two weeks ago, is ranked 216th.
