Driver dies in apparent high-speed crash near Snohomish

SNOHOMISH — A man died in what appeared to be a high-speed crash over the weekend east of Snohomish.

A passerby reported finding that a severely damaged car had crashed off the 10500 block of Chain Lake Road around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

No other vehicles were involved, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators believe the car may have been speeding.

The identity of the driver is pending examination by the county medical examiner.
