Seventeen members of the Kiwanis Club of Lynnwood and the Mountlake Terrace High School Key Club cleaned and packaged 745 glasses for the annual Save Old Spectacles (SOS) event, Feb. 28 at College Place Optical in Edmonds. The glasses will be sent to other countries to be distributed.

“A lot of countries do not have the eye care that we have,” said owner Ron Swengel, a Kiwanis member.

The public is welcome to drop off used eyeglasses with no missing or broken lenses during business hours at Swengel’s office at 8325 212th St. SW in Edmonds.
