Pub talk in Bothell

The next University of Washington Bothell Pub Night Talk is “Tech Tales: Storytelling through Engineering,” 7 p.m. Tuesday in Hayne’s Hall at McMenamins Anderson School, 18607 Bothell Way NE. The talk is free and open to the public, and all ages are welcome. Seating is first come, first served.

Speakers are Carrie Tzou, associate professor at the School of Educational Studies, and Megan Bang, associate professor at the College of Education. A Q-and-A follows.

Sign language for babies

Hearing families can use American Sign Language as a temporary means of communication with babies and toddlers. Nancy Hanauer of Hop to Signaroo will discuss how at a free program at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Mukilteo Library, 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd.

Build homes in Honduras

Habitat for Humanity plans a summer service trip to Honduras. A Honduras Cultural Night fundraiser to help cover costs is set for 6:30 p.m. June 14 at the Mountlake Terrace Senior Center, 23000 Lakeview Drive. Tickets are $20, or $25 at the door. The event features cultural cuisine and entertainment along with a raffle.

The trip is planned for Aug. 18-26 and volunteers are welcome to come along and help build homes in Gracias Lempira. Tasks include mixing cement by hand, digging trenches for foundations and moving cinder blocks.

Walk to Cure Arthritis

The Snohomish County Walk to Cure Arthritis will be held June 9 at McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett. Everett girl Hallee Jette, 7, is this year’s youth honoree. Donations are encouraged. The group hopes to raise $50,000.
