Honeyman stays hot, Sox top Boise 9-4

EVERETT — The Everett AquaSox rediscovered their offense Friday with a 9-4 win over the Boise Hawks before 2,885 fans at Everett Memorial Stadium.

Bobby Honeyman finished 3-for-5 with a home run, scored twice and drove in three runs. Connor Kopach had three hits including a double, and Ryan Ramiz drove in three with his first professional home run.

The AquaSox (6-5, 26-23) pounded out 11 hits in the victory and were 5-for-9 with runners in scoring position.

Orlando Razo (2-3) earned the win despite allowing four earned runs on five hits and four walks. He fanned three in five innings of work. Ulises Perez pitched three innings of scoreless, one-hit baseball and J.T. Salter threw a scoreless ninth.

The Hawks took a 3-0 lead in the top of the second when Cole Anderson hit a three-run home run to left field with two runners aboard off Everett starter Razo.

The AquaSox tied the game in the bottom of the third with a pair of long balls of their own. Bobby Honeyman led off with a home run to right-center, and with two outs Ryan Ramiz belted his first professional home run with Josh Stowers on base to make it 3-3.

Cade Harris regained the lead for Boise with a solo home run in the fifth.

But Everett took the lead with five runs in the bottom of the inning. Honeyman and Kopach had RBI singles, Cal Raleigh had a sacrifice fly and Ramiz had an RBI groundout as Everett took an 8-4 lead.

The Frogs added another run in the sixth when Honeyman doubled in Geoandry Montilla.

The teams resume the series with the fourth game tonight at 7:05 p.m.
