MARYSVILLE — Two drivers died and two passengers were hospitalized after a crash Wednesday night just north of Lake Stevens.

A 20-year-old Marysville man, driving a 1996 Honda Accord ran a stop sign at Sunnyside School Road, the Washington State Patrol said. His car hit a 2013 Dodge Avenger, which was northbound on Highway 9. The 55-year-old driver of the second car, a Lake Stevens man, also was killed.

An 18-year-old Everett man in the Honda and a 54-year-old Lake Stevens woman in the Dodge both were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

Additional details were not immediately available.

A separate, head-on collision injured a Lake Stevens woman Wednesday afternoon on Highway 92.

It happened just before 4 p.m. near the crossing with 84th Street NE.

The woman, 52, was eastbound on the highway when her Ford Mustang was struck by an Infinity. The Infinity driver, a Marysville man, 43, was westbound and attempting to make a left turn into a parking lot, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The woman was taken to Providence. The man was not hurt.

Both cars were totalled. Troopers allege the Marysville man failed to yield and said they were looking at potential charges of vehicular assault. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail and remained there Thursday.

Investigations were ongoing into both incidents.
