Five prep events to keep an eye on over the next week:

Football: 4A state championship game, Lake Stevens vs. Union, 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Tacoma Dome. For all of the Vikings’ success over the past decade-plus, this is their first state-title game appearance since 1994. Both teams are unbeaten and aiming for their first state crown.

Boys basketball: Marysville Pilchuck at Kamiak, 7:15 p.m. Wednesday. Two teams coming off state-tournament appearances meet in a non-league clash. The Tomahawks are led by recent University of Washington signee RaeQuan Battle. Kamiak graduated a slew of talent from last year’s team, which reached the state quarterfinals for the first time in program history.

Boys wrestling: Edmonds Invite, Saturday at Edmonds-Woodway H.S. The season-opening invitational features approximately 30 teams, including traditional state powers Bonney Lake, Kelso, Union and Yelm. Local participating teams are Edmonds-Woodway, Arlington, Everett, Kamiak, Mariner, Meadowdale, Oak Harbor and Shorewood.

Girls basketball: Snohomish at Glacier Peak, 7:15 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3. Glacier Peak, which reached the 4A state regionals last season, faces reigning Wesco 3A champion Snohomish in the annual crosstown rivalry showdown.
