MONROE — Tanner Jellison threw three touchdown passes and added another on the ground as Lake Stevens cruised past Monroe 40-0 in the 81st meeting of the two Wesco rivals.

After a scoreless first quarter, Jellison opened the scoring with his legs, eluding the Bearcats rush and scrambling for a 3-yard touchdown early in the second quarter.

Shortly after, Jellison found Max Moenoa for an 8-yard strike as the Vikings went into halftime with a 14-0 lead.

Lake Stevens opened it up in the third quarter on a short touchdown run from Jay Roughton and another Jellison to Moenoa connection from 10 yards out.

The Vikings sealed the game in the fourth when Jellison found Gabe Ramsey for a 16-score to push their lead to 33-0.

Lake Stevens (2-0) has now won eight straight over Monroe (1-1) and 14 of the past 15 matchups in the storied rivalry.
