EVERETT — The Everett Silvertips have given Louis Mass a promotion.

Mass, who’s been an assistant coach for three seasons, was given a multi-year contract extension and promoted to associate coach, the team announced Thursday.

Mass has worked primarily with Everett’s defensemen and penalty killers, helping the Tips lead the entire Canadian Hockey League in fewest goals allowed per game in two of the past three seasons. He was Everett’s lone assistant coach during the coronavirus pandemic-shortened 2020-21 campaign.
