EVERETT — After waiting a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the class of 2020 was at last inducted into the Snohomish County Sports Hall of Fame at a banquet held Wednesday evening at the Edward D. Hansen Conference Center at Angel of the Winds Arena.

Inductees of the 2020 class included athletes Krista Colburn Monrean (softball), Everett “Ev” Conley (boxing), Sean Henderson (soccer), Jill Mayer (multi-sports), Sherrie Chambers-Wilson (judo); broadcaster Tom Lafferty; coaches Kim Hammons (baseball) and Duane Lewis (track and field); and the 1972 Meadowdale High School football team.

In addition, The Herald’s 2020-21 Man and Woman of the Year in Sports were honored, as well as the 2020-21 Collegiate Male and Female Athletes of the Year and the 2020-21 High School Male and Female Athletes of the Year.

The Snohomish County Sports Commission announced in July that there would be no class of 2021 in order to properly honor the class of 2020. Last year’s banquet was canceled due to the pandemic.
