MUKILTEO — If you look like your dog, now’s your chance to flaunt it for wagging rights.

The Great Mukilteo Dog Show on Saturday has a dozen different categories for pooches from all walks of life.

Westminster this is not.

“It’s low-key, it’s not a sanctioned dog show,” said Kandace Barnes, president of the city’s Chamber of Commerce. She has a Saint Berdoodle that will be a spectator.

The free event is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lighthouse Park. Dog food donations are accepted.

All friendly dogs can attend. The event will have a shy dog area, mist area, self-guided agility station and pet photo booth.

Dogs have to be registered to participate in the show. Registered as in signed up, not as in pedigree. A rabies vaccine is required.

Categories include: Best Legs. Fluffiest. Best Trick. Best Outfit. Cutest Senior. Cutest Puppy. Best Haircut. Best Mutt. Ugliest Dog. Best Wiggles. Most Slobbery. Best Bark. Best Jump.

A dog can enter in up to two categories. Your wiggly, drooling dog could triumph.

Instead of a fee to enter, donations can be made to Old Dog Haven, a non-profit group that provides homes for senior dogs in Western Washington.

Show dogs get a bandana and a swag bag.

Winners in each category get a gift basket. The Best of Show gets a Best of Muk prize.

Mayor Joe Marine will emcee the show.

When asked to comment on this career milestone, Marine said by text: “It would seem I’m going to the dogs. I especially like to emcee the dachshund contest because every dog’s a wiener.”
