Davis’ late RBI double lifts AquaSox over Spokane

EVERETT — Colin Davis hit a go-ahead RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Everett AquaSox rallied for a 4-3 win over the Spokane Indians on Wednesday night at Funko Field.

With two outs in the bottom of the eighth Charlie Welch walked and then scored the winning run all the way from first after a liner from Davis deflected off the pitcher’s glove and into left field.

The AquaSox tied the game with two runs in the seventh inning. Cole Young plated Davis on an RBI groundout and Hogan Windish added an RBI double to make it 3-3.

Brandon Schaeffer started on the mound for Everett (51-47, 17-15 second half) and allowed just two runs on four hits in six innings. Schaeffer struck out seven and walked one. Jarod Bayless pitched a scoreless frame in the ninth for his third save of the season.

Nic Kent hit a solo home run in the game for Spokane (47-50, 14-18).
