EVERETT —The woman who was struck and killed by a train in Everett last week has been identified.

Around 8:15 p.m. July 25, a westbound Amtrak train traveling from Chicago to Seattle was near Harborview Park, about 5 miles from Everett Station, when it struck Anna Baisheva on the tracks.

It was unclear why Baisheva, 35, was on the tracks. The train was delayed as authorities investigated.

This was the third time since June a train hit and killed a pedestrian along the rail line running parallel to Mukilteo Boulevard.

Fifteen people have died on Washington railroads this year, according to the state Department of Transportation.
