EUGENE — For the second straight night, Luis Suisbel and Lazaro Montes homered as the Everett AquaSox powered their way to a 6-1 victory Wednesday at PK Park

The AquaSox, winners of three straight, evened their record at 26-26 while moving within 1.5 games of first-place Hillboro. Eugene (26-27) dropped into fourth place, a half-game behind Everett, which has won the first two game of the six-game series.

Everett starter Marcelo Perez pitched six strong innings, allowing just two hits and a run on a second-inning solo home run while leveling his record to 2-2. The right-hander struck out six batters and walked none.

Frogs second baseman Michael Arroyo (1-for-2, 2 BB) led off the game with a shot to right center to begin the homer party. Center fielder Tai Peete (2-for-4) hit Everett’s fourth home run of the night in the ninth inning for his seventh bomb of the season.

Montes’ home run, his league-leading 13th of the season, drove in Colt Emerson in the sixth inning. Montes (2-for-4, HR, 2B, 3 RBI) also doubled in Suisbel in the fourth.

While the offense continued to post runs, four AquaSox pitchers combined to allow just four hits and a lone walk. In addition to Perez’s strong start, Tyler Cleveland, Elijah Dale and Stefan Raeth eached tossed a scoreless frame.
