Snohomish County transit rides will be free on New Year’s Eve

EVERETT — Transit agencies across the Puget Sound, including in Snohomish County, will provide fare-free rides on New Year’s Eve, King County Metro announced Monday.

Everett Transit, Community Transit and Sound Transit will all provide rides at no cost, the announcement read. Sound Transit’s Link light rail and express buses will be fare-free from 3 a.m. Dec. 31 to 3 a.m. Jan. 1. Community Transit will be fare-free from 4 a.m. Dec. 31 to 4 a.m. Jan. 1. Everett Transit will be fare-free all day Dec. 31.

On Thursday, Everett Transit’s bus service will not operate due to the Christmas holiday, and Community Transit’s service will run on a less-frequent Sunday schedule.

On Dec. 31, Everett Transit and Community Transit will operate on regular weekday schedules. Sound Transit will run extended late-night light rail service.
