Hear traditional folk music at free concerts in Everett

The Pacific Northwest Folklore Society and the Everett Public Library are teaming up again to present three family concerts of traditional folk music.

These concerts all start at 2 p.m. Sundays at the main auditorium with the first concert scheduled for Sunday at the Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave., Everett.

The concerts are all free.

Here’s the line-up:

Sunday: Tania Opland brings an unusual array of musical instruments to play and uses them all to present a vast repertoire of songs of the world. Some of the instruments she plays are the five-string violin, the wire strung harp, the hurdy gurdy and an Alaskan-made double chambered wooden ocarina. April 22: Sara Comer recently became a Certified Champion Old Time Fiddler when she took first at the Washington State Fiddlers Contest in the Young Adult division. She won that division by playing the old-time dance music she grew up with and still continues to spin the stories and play the music of American fiddle music.
