Q: In Snohomish County you see your fair share of big 4×4 trucks and sport utility vehicles — the trucks and SUV’s with lift kits and big tires and wheels on them. What is the legal limit as to how far tires can protrude from the wheel well of a vehicle?

Andy Kautz, Everett

A: Washington State Patrol trooper Lance Ramsay said tires may protrude a maximum of 2 inches from the wheel well or fenders that are on the body of the vehicle.
