OLYMPIA — Washington lawmakers are considering legislation to expand a tax break for the film and television industry.
The News Tribune of Tacoma reports that without action the tax credit will expire July 1. Supporters says it’s needed to maintain film industry jobs in Washington and compete with other states that offer incentives to filmmakers.
The legislation has been introduced by Rep. Phyllis Gutierrez Kenney of Seattle in the House and by Sen. Jeanne Kohl-Welles of Seattle in the Senate.
