EVERETT — Randy Bednar and James Parker each hit two-run home runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to tie the game, but the Everett AquaSox couldn’t hold on and fell 11-9 to the Spokane Indians in 10 innings on Thursday night at Funko Field.
The AquaSox’s big rally came after Spokane scored five times in the top of the eighth inning to take a 9-5 lead. The Indians’ runs came on a run-scoring triple, two RBI singles and a wild pitch to seemingly put the game out of reach.
But Ben Ramirez opened the ninth with a base hit and scored on Bednar’s homer. And with one out Mika Salvatore walked and scored on Parker’s longball, his second of the game.
Spokane (18-15) took the lead for good on a Yanquiel Fernandez run-scoring triple and an RBI single from Juan Guerrero in the top of the 10th.
Tyler Locklear, Ramirez and Bednar all struck out in the bottom of the tenth with a runner on second to end the game for Everett (17-18).
