Everett service club elects officers
The Zonta Club of Everett recently installed new officers and directors for the 2014-15 year: President Dr. Suzanne Poppema, President elect Linda Lepak, Treasurer Karen Fugate, Secretary Carol Janowicz and Directors Deb Bordsen, Judy Gish, Luanne Kunz and Nedra Shumaker.
Zonta International is a global organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy.

Patrol officer named Arlington PD’s best
The Arlington Police Department recently presented its 2013 Employee of the Year award to Officer Michael Sargent. Sargent started working for the city in 2008 and was a Taser instructor and registered sex offender coordinator before being assigned to the investigations unit this year.
Before joining Arlington, Sargent was on active duty with the U.S. Army, conducting Homeland Security details in Washington, D.C., and presidential security while operating a Sentinel radar system at the Bush ranch in Crawford, Texas.
Sargent lives in Arlington with his two teenage boys, Tyler and Josh.
He was nominated by his peers for the award.
Rotary provides beds for kids
St. Vincent de Paul, North Sound Council, recently announced the donation of $1,500 from The Marysville Rotary Noon Time Club. All of the funds will go toward the purchase of beds for children who are otherwise sleeping on the floor in their homes.
