Every year The Daily Herald takes nominations and lets readers vote for the Best of Snohomish County Awards. This year, 80,000 votes were cast. There are dozens of categories, but here are the 2023 top choices for best bakery:

First Place: Snohomish Bakery in Snohomish

Snohomish Bakery at First & Union is in the heart of downtown Snohomish. Accumulating roughly half the votes in the bakery category, it is fair to say they’re in the hearts of Snohomish County residents as well. All their pastries are made fresh and by hand daily with as many local ingredients possible. The bakery sells muffins, scones, cookies, cakes, and more. They also make limited-edition pastries by request.

Second Place: South Fork Bakery Co. in Everett

Third Place: The Creamery Co. in Marysville

Additional Nominations: Choux Choux in Everett, Despi Delite Bakery in Everett
