Darrington Day: A celebration with music, exhibits and a book signing, beginning at 10 a.m. May 25.More information for all Darrington Day events will be posted in the front of the Darrington IGA, 1090 Seeman St. or contact Martha Rasmussen, 360-436-2167.

10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Fire Lookout Exhibit, Green Mountain Lookout slideshow at Cascade Senior Center, 1115 Darrington St.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m., book signing at Mountain Loop Books &Coffee, 1085 Darrington St., by Eric Erickson for “Mile Post,” a history of the Arlington-Darrington nranch of the Northern Pacific Railway, 1899 to 2009.

1 p.m. is the ribbon cutting at Forest Service Canoe Shed, 1405 Emens St., with volunteers, Sauk Suiattle Tribe and Darrington Historical Society.

Noon to 6 p.m., Music in the Park with Darrington Bluegrass Association, Brent Offerings, Freddy James Rockin’ 88, Contrabanned, Desperate Measures and Ragged Edge at Old School Park in the center of town.

Edmonds Waterfront Festival: 3 to 10 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday May 31 to June 2, Port of Edmonds Marina, children’s activities, arts and crafts, music, beer garden, classic yacht show; $3 admission, free for ages 10 and younger; 425-771-1744; www.edmondswaterfrontfestival.com.

King’s Wish with Casper Babypants: In Teatro ZinZanni’s all-new kid and family production, dancing, singing, and joyful merriment happen when a wish from the genie in a lamp is granted. “Plastics Unwrapped”: The Burke Museum explores the impact of plastics on people and the planet, from life before plastics to the effects of plastics on our health and the environment today; runs through May 27 at the Burke Museum, on the University of Washington campus, at the corner of NE 45th St. and 17th Ave. NE.
