50 YEARS AGO (1960)
Everett Ski Club members elected new officers at their monthly business meeting, with James Hunter chosen president; Robert Hall, vice president; Marena Hall, treasurer; and Barbara Stole, treasurer. On the board of directors were John Hutsell, Carl Stole, Mel Johnston and Dick Damon.
The Mount Pilchuck PTA was entertained by the Everett Junior College Madrigal Choir under the direction of Paul Giroux. Members were Herb Hunter, Gary Gauthier, Sally Cleveland, Phil Pugh, Judy Bethers, Gerry Pond, Tuck Bonney, Mary Drennon, Beverly Smith, Rita Smith, Corrine Wicher and Jon Vognild.
25 YEARS AGO (1985)
Gordon Scribner, former Everett Junior College and Edmonds High School teacher and counselor, was honored at a dinner and reception at the Washington Athletic Club in Seattle on the occasion of his retirement from the administrative staff at Whitman College in Walla Walla, where he was director of alumni affairs.
The public was invited to hear a talk on the crisis in Ethiopia at the Everett Soroptimist Club meeting, which met at Filibeck’s Chuckwagon in Everett. The speaker was Dave Blackmer of World Concern.
