MARYSVILLE — Two suspects in a Marysville murder have been arrested in California, according to police.
Jorge Nava “Speedy” Martinez, 31, and Jose Antonio “Chi Chi” Nava, 30, were named last week as suspects in the shooting death of an Arlington man, Tye Burley.
Burley won $7,000 gambling in the days before his death, according to police reports. Two men in bandanas — identified as Martinez and Nava — attacked him Feb. 20, by a motel on Beach Avenue, police said.
Burley suffered a gunshot to the head. The killers fled in a white SUV. Burley succumbed to his injuries two days later at an Everett hospital. He was 30.
In the meantime, police arrested two others, Jeremy Dailey and Jared Evans, who admitted to plotting the robbery. They are charged with first-degree murder.
On Wednesday, a patrol officer in Escondido, California, tried to stop a suspicious car with Washington license plates, according to Marysville police. Three people ran from the car. Two were detained: Martinez and Nava. Now they face extradition to Washington.
The third person in the car remained at large.
