EVERETT — Traffic was backed up for 7 miles after two crashes blocked all lanes on I-5 south during rush hour Monday morning in Everett.
Around 7 a.m., two “multi-vehicle” crashes just north of Marine View Drive on I-5 blocked all of the southbound lanes, said Washington State Patrol trooper Kelsey Harding. No one was seriously hurt, she said.
The lanes were closed while five or six tow trucks made it to the scene to remove the cars.
Around 8:45 a.m., the lanes were cleared. The state Department of Transportation still advised drivers to seek alternate routes as the backup dwindled.
