EVERETT – A 32-year-old man was arrested Monday night on suspicion of raping a 14-year-old girl.

The man’s wife, 24, was also arrested on suspicion of unlawful imprisonment and intimidating a witness, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen said.

The incident took place in the early morning hours Monday at a south Snohomish County residence.

The man, a convicted Level 3 sex offender, turned himself in to police. A Level 3 sex offender is one authorities believe is most likely to reoffend.

"We got one off the streets," Jorgensen said.

The man was booked into the county jail for investigation of second-degree rape, second-degree assault and unlawful imprisonment.

His wife was also booked into jail.

The victim was treated and released at a local hospital.
