CLEARWATER — A Jefferson County sheriff’s spokesman said a man clearing brush for the Washington state Department of Natural Resources has been killed on the job.

Chief Criminal Deputy Joe Nole told the Peninsula Daily News that the body of Sam Gaydeski of Beaver was found Monday evening. Nole ssaidys the man apparently was killed by the blade of his brush cutter. He was working at the west end of Jefferson County near Clearwater, clearing weeds near the side of a DNR road.

The sheriff’s office is investigating but Nole said the death appears to be an accident.

Nole said the state Department of Labor and Industries will also investigate.
