DARRINGTON – An overturned semitruck closed parts of Highway 530 Tuesday morning near Darrington.
The truck driver apparently lost control, went off the roadway and flipped the trailer onto its side, spilling a load of bark onto the roadway, according to the Washington State Patrol. It took crews a couple of hours to clean up the mess and reopen the road. The driver suffered minor injuries.
Everett: Argument ends with gunshots
An argument erupted into gunshots when an Everett man allegedly shot another man in the leg early Tuesday.
The alleged assailant, 24, turned himself in at the Everett Police Department’s south precinct later in the morning. He was booked on suspicion of first-degree assault.
The victim, 23, was treated at Providence Everett Medical Center’s Colby Campus.
The shooting happened at an apartment complex in the 9900 block of Holly Drive. The two men had been arguing in a nearby apartment before going outside. Nobody else was injured.
Police are asking anyone who saw the shooting to call the police tip line at 425-257-8450.
Police seek suspected espresso stand robber
Everett police are looking for a man who robbed an espresso stand early Tuesday.
The man forced his way into an espresso stand in the 3000 block of Everett Avenue at 5:23 a.m., demanded money from the barista, then ran away.
He was described as a white man in his 20s, thin and about 5 feet 11 inches tall. He was wearing baggy blue jeans and a black hooded sweat shirt. He had blond hair and blue eyes.
