Monroe police seeks suspect in knifepoint robbery

MONROE — Police on Thursday were searching for a man suspected of robbing his ex-girlfriend at knifepoint.

The robbery was reported just before 1 p.m. in the 17000 block of 157th Street SE, Monroe police spokeswoman Debbie Willis said.

A Snohomish woman, 42, said her ex-boyfriend threatened her with the knife and ran off with her purse.

The police search included an area near Fryelands Elementary, which went into a lockdown as a precaution.

Officers on Thursday night continued to look for the man, 42, of Snohomish.
