EVERETT — Riders utilizing Community Transit buses will soon see more frequent service and longer hours of operation along certain routes, the transit agency announced.
Here are some of the most significant changes coming to Snohomish County bus service:
• Route 117, which connects the Mukilteo Ferry to the Lynnwood City Center light rail station, will see a bus arrive every 30 minutes instead of once per hour on weekend afternoons.
• Route 121, which connects Ash Way Park and Ride in Lynnwood to the University of Washington Bothell campus, will now operate seven days a week, instead of only weekdays.
• Both routes 201 and 202 will see increased service. The two routes follow largely the same route between the Smokey Point Transit Center in Arlington and Lynnwood City Center station. The increases mean a 201 or 202 bus will arrive every 15 minutes for most of the day on weekdays. On weekends, a 201 or 202 bus is set to arrive every 20 minutes.
• The Swift Blue Line, connecting Everett Station to the Shoreline North light rail station, will operate about 20 minutes later every day. This means the last bus will leave the Shoreline North station around midnight on weekdays, at 11 p.m. on Saturdays and at 10:20 p.m. on Sundays. Frequencies will also increase to every 15 minutes all day on Saturdays, and every 15 minutes between 5-9 p.m. on Sundays.
• The Swift Green Line, connecting Bothell to the Boeing factory in Everett, will see its last bus leave 10 minutes later on weekday nights, around 11:30 p.m. Frequencies will also increase to every 15 minutes between 7-9 p.m. on weekdays, between 1-7 p.m. on Saturdays and between 1-6 p.m. on Sundays.
• The Swift Orange Line, connecting Edmonds College to Mill Creek, will see 15-minute arrivals between 7-10 p.m. on weekdays, and 15-minute arrivals between 1-6 p.m. on Sundays.
Changes go into effect on Aug. 30. More info: communitytransit.org/buses/service-changes.
