MONROE — The Evergreen State Fair opened today, but meteorologists say rain may put a damper on fun for the next couple of days.

Anyone hoping for a sunnier afternoon is in for bad news: It’s looking cloudy with scattered showers for the rest of today and Friday, said Art Gaebel, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Seattle

“Right now, it doesn’t look all that bright,” he said. “The days of 80 degrees and sunshine may be gone here for a while.”

No rain and maybe even a few sun breaks are forecast for Saturday. Sunday is expected to be cloudy with a chance of showers. Temperatures are expected to hover in the 60s and lower 70s throughout the weekend, Gaebel said.
