Absence from vote hurt those in need

Recently a letter writer compared John Kerry’s poor attendance record in the Senate to President Bush’s working vacations at his ranch in Crawford, Texas. A story in Friday’s Herald reported that Boeing jobs were drawing hundreds of laid-off workers waiting for the chance to work.

I wonder how many of those workers have seen their unemployment benefits expire? An extenstion of these benefits was up for a vote in the Senate for the president to sign. It failed to make it out of the Senate by one vote and can you guess who was not there to make that extension a reality for those in need? John Kerry.
