Animal control did its job; court’s turn

Regarding the article in The Herald about the 37 dogs impounded to the North County Animal Shelter for alleged animal abuse:

It is obvious that the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Animal Control did its job. They are to be commended. If any excuse can be made for the “horrific abuse” alleged, it will certainly be made in a court of law. If, however, the facts prove that criminal animal abuse occurred, we must look to the court to mete out appropriate penalties. It does no good to expend effort on an intense investigation if a slap on the hand is the only result.
