Best to avoid scented cat litter

I’ve been in the pet care business for 18 years. During this time, I’ve had access to hundreds of cat littler boxes, and what I have observed has been disturbing. I am seeing so many cats that are having bad reactions to the scented, toxic cat litters. Some of these symptoms include: skin allergies, runny eyes, asthma and difficulty breathing, and an overall lack of energy. Please note these symptoms could also be a sign of another illness, so it’s crucial to confer with your vet if you see any of these symptoms in your cat.
The manufacturers are not listing the chemicals in your cat litters because they don’t have to. What you will find are tricky words to confuse the consumer, like special formula, or deodorizing formula. Cats with covered boxes fare the worst, as dust and chemicals have no place to go but in the cat’s lungs. There are a lot of quality of unscented cat litters on the market to choose from that are sold by manufacturers who actually care about your cat’s health.
Scoop you cat box every day, change out the litter weekly, and provide your cat with a safe, nontoxic, unscented litter. Your kitty will love you!
