Boeing 737 Max’s schedule demands hurries process

Regarding the Boeing 737 Max door panel blow-out, here is the reason and the problem, Boeing has quality control issues: Each part made has a due date. Each airplane made has a due date. The process of building the entire plane, is schedule driven. All parts and planes have a deadline.

So what happens when the process falls behind? Two choices: work overtime hours, or work faster. Working faster, may cause mistakes. This is the “cause and effect” working behind schedule will cause.

Having worked 23 years for Boeing, my shop was only on schedule for one day. Working to catch-up, is never a good situation. Again, mistakes will be made.

What’s the answer?
