City actions at odds with fixing traffic

Regarding the proposed projects on U.S. 2: The city is upset about the traffic and congestion, but still allows more building of homes and businesses that contribute to the 33,000 cars a day going through Monroe.
Officials are considering replacing the traffic signals with roundabouts and to fix the highway could take 25 years.
This sounds like it would make a good sequel to the movie “Dumb and Dumber.”
