Two different ‘justice’ systems

Our justice system — or is it our injustice system?

Many of us agree that our justice system is broken. People who should be in prison aren’t and some who are, aren’t a danger to anyone. What can we do to fix this system?

In regard to the Everett officer shooting a drunken man, does it take seven bullets to kill someone? My husband, who is a good law-abiding citizen, had a horrific accident which resulted in a death, and he was sentenced to 13 years in prison. Yet this officer shot this man seven times and he walks?

It seems to me that anyone in law enforcement or the so-called justice system has all the power while we, the general public, have none. We do not have the resources or the money to defend ourselves in a court of law like the “powers” do.

I do not respect our justice system any longer because of what happened to my family, which was and is incomprehensible. It appears that whenever there is a death at the hands of an officer of the law, they are cleared. Even after an internal investigation, or one by an outside agency, the incident is deemed justifiable. What a joke!

My heart goes out to the family of Niles Meservey.
