Still in shock after reading The Herald’s decisions to end the Sunday paper and to deliver by postal service (“The end of an era for The Daily Herald’s Sunday edition,” The Herald, Dec. 25).
Our mail does not come until after 6 p.m. Our initial reaction was simply to cancel and subscribe to The Seattle Times for our morning ritual. Coffee, breakfast and The Herald have been our morning ritual at 5 a.m. for more than 20 years. After calming down, and reading thoroughly The Herald’s explanation, my wife suggests we simply remain subscribers, support what we love, and read the paper as usual the next morning. Yes!
At 84, we are slowed down anyway. The ritual is what is important to us. Good luck, Herald, with your new policies, and I hope others, like us, will stick with you. We have no relation to Seattle, or to New York, or elsewhere. Everett is our home, and it is where we live and work. So we will remain loyal to The Herald. Glad tidings, all.
