EVERETT — Powered by a three-run home run from Axel Sanchez and a three-run triple by Alberto Rodriguez, the Everett AquaSox scored seven runs in the first three innings and rolled to a 9-4 win over the Hillsboro Hops on Wednesday night at Funko Field.
Rodriguez also doubled twice and finished 3-for-5, Harry Ford went 3-for-5 with three doubles and an RBI, and James Parker added a solo home run for the AquaSox, who have won eight out of their past nine games.
Reid VanScoter started on the mound for Everett (37-33, 3-1 second half)) and turned in a powerful performance. VanScoter allowed four runs on four hits in 5.1 innings, but struck out 11 and walked just two.
Victor Bericoto hit a two-run home run for Eugene (36-34, 2-2).
