BOTHELL – The Arlington Christian boys soccer team scored two unanswered goals in the second half and a game-winner in overtime to knock off Heritage Christian 3-2 in a Northwest A/B League game Friday night.

Trailing 2-0 after the first half, Arlington Christian came out of halftime on fire. Austin Chaffee scored both goals in the second half to tie it up, while goalkeeper Casey Wessel held the Heritage Christian offense mute for the remainder of the game to send it into overtime.

“I was really proud of the way we came out playing in the second half,” said Arlington Christian coach Marv Livesay. “It was a great team effort.”

In the overtime period it was again Chaffee who came to the Lions rescue by taking a loose ball and knocking it into the back of the net. Chaffee not only ended the game, but ended the Lion’s eight-game losing streak that began last season.

“It was great to see the kids so excited,” said Livesay. “It was like they won the World Cup.”
