Lake Stevens girls soccer eliminated from 4A state tourney

RENTON — Bailey Hall’s goal in the 48th minute was the difference in Kennedy Catholic’s 1-0 victory over Lake Stevens in the first round of the 4A State Tournament on Tuesday at Renton Memorial Stadium.

The Vikings end their season with a record of 14-4-1. The Lancers, who improved to 15-1-3 with the win, will travel to Wenatchee for a quarterfinal match.

2A State

Cedarcrest 3, R.A. Long 1

DUVALL — The Red Wolves blew the first-round state match open in the second half, breaking a 1-1 tie with goals by Makena Guenther and Piper Parish.

Sarah Hommas staked Cedarcrest (14-2-3) to an early lead with a first-half goal.

Cedarcrest will travel to White River for a quarterfinal match on Nov. 9-11.

1A State

Klahowya 4, South Whidbey 1

BREMERTON — The Falcons scored in the final moments, but were out-played by the Eagles throughout their opening-round state match Tuesday at Silverdale Stadium.

South Whidbey ended its season with a record of 9-13-1.
