For Immediate release, Evergreen Speedway

Saturday, August 15th brings another night of great racing at the Super Speedway of the West.

The Speedway Chevrolet Super Late Models are back for side by side racing on the 3/8’s oval. Also on the schedule are the Les Schwab Street Stocks, the Foster Press Mini Stocks, the Pawn X-change Super figure 8’s, the Cub Scout Hornets and the All City Haul-N Youth Hornets.

In the Late model division, Naima Lang will be looking to extend his points lead, while Jeff Knight, Daniel Moore, Natalie Sather and Tom Hughs look to close in.

The street stock class, with it’s very tight points battle, is sure to put on a great show. 2 points separate leader Frank Cowgill and Darrel Lutovsky with Joe Kneeland and Lane Sundholm only a few points back.

With having close to a month off, the mini stocks are chomping at the bit to be back at Evergreen Speedway. Only 11 points separate the top 3. Kris Harriss, points leader by 10, Scott LaCross in 2nd and Nat Barber in 3rd.

Team mates in the super figure 8 division, Shane Sawin and Ricky Deitz are looking to close the gap on points leader John Carlson. Carlson took home the 1st place trophy last time out, but Deitz and Sawin have shown that they are both a force to be reckoned with.

114 different drivers have taken points in the hornet class at the speedway so far this year. Will this be a week where we see a big field of the always action packed 4 cylinders. This week is a points racing week for the hornets. 13 points separate points leader Chris Williamson from Rick Palmer. Nick Parrish and Jason McQuinn are only 2 points apart for 3rd and 4th. 5th and 6th place runners Ken Moi and Jaime Corbett have only 7 points difference between them. 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th are also very close.

Grandstand seating opens at 5:00 with opening ceremonies at 7:00

Ticket Prices: Adults, $14.50, Jr/Sr (11-17, 62+) $10.50, Child (6-10) $5.50 and 5 and under FREE, family pass(2 adults and up to 4 children/jr’s) $45.00

Drivers are excited about getting back on the racetrack to show their own stellar car control, while they test the mechanical and physical limits of their vehicles.
