FEDERAL WAY — Shorewood’s Mackey Hopen was the top qualifier in the 100-yard backstroke, posting an All-America consideration time of 58.16 seconds.
Oak Harbor’s Yale Rosen (eighth) will also be in the championship final. Shorewood’s Andre Garrison (13th) and Oak Harbor’s Josh Jepsen (16th) will be in the consolation final.
Shorewood’s Thor Stenfjord qualified third in the 500 freestyle. Teammate Anders Blomso will be in the consolation final.
Shorewood qualified for the consolation final in the 400 freestyle relay.
Hopen and Stenfjord also swam on the 200 freestyle relay team, which qualified second. Oak Harbor qualified for the consolation final.
Oak Harbor’s Jacob Jensen just missed the championship final in the 100 backstroke, finishing ninth in qualifying.
Results for the first six events were not reported by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association.
