KIRKLAND — The Seattle Seahawks got more bad news on the injury front Monday, when they learned that wide receiver Bobby Engram is likely miss six to eight weeks with a cracked bone in his shoulder.
Engram, 35, was injured early in Friday night’s preseason game, but the severity of the injury was not known until Monday.
He will remain on the active roster because being placed on injured reserve would end his season.
Engram was the Seahawks’ leading receiver last season, with a franchise-record 94 receptions.
His absence means Nate Burleson could be the only available receiver with starting experience when the season opens. The team is still holding out hope that Deion Branch will return from a knee injury in time for the opener, but Branch has yet to practice.
For more on the Engram situation, read Tuesday’s print edition of The Herald.
