The Athlete of the Week nominees for Sept. 22-28. Voting closes at midnight Sunday. The winner will be announced with the next poll and in next Wednesday’s paper.

Last week’s winner

Teuila Halalilo | Archbishop Murphy | Volleyball

The sophomore registered 14 kills and 16 assists to lead the Wildcats three games to one over Marysville Pilchuck. Halalilo won The Herald’s Athlete of the Week for Sept. 8-14 by claiming 508 (37.57%) of the 1,352 votes.

This week’s nominees

Sawyer Hiatt | Edmonds-Woodway | Volleyball

The junior outside hitter led the Warrior with 20 kills and six digs in a 3-2 triumph over Shorewood.

Ben Lee | Jackson | Boys Tennis

Lee stayed perfect this season with a 6-0, 6-3 victory against Shorewood.

Emma Lehmann | Glacier Peak | Swimming

The senior won the 200 freestyle, the 500 freestyle and anchored two relays to victory in an event involving Snohomish, Marysville Getchell and Marysville Pilchuck.

Shanara Peebles | Monroe | Volleyball

The sophomore registered 22 kills in a victory over Everett on Wednesday.
